Warming up for Autumn – Coats for Curves

This morning’s school run was a bit of a wash out – quite literally. Between jumping out of the car and getting inside the school doors I looked like the proverbial drowned rat, while the kiddies were warm, dry and smug in their rain coats. I am in desperate need of a new coat for this autumn and winter – I’ve actually been in desperate need of a new autumn and winter coat for a couple of years now but just haven’t got around to buying one, so I have spent many a morning dodging rain showers, or shivering in the cold.

I am a curvy woman (I really am not keen on the term Plus Sized) and shopping for a decent coat can be a bit of nightmare as quite often the cut of some coats doesn’t really do anything to accentuate my figure, and more often than not I  end up looking like a sack of spuds. I have to admit I normally find coat shopping incredibly stressful as a result, but I found this article from Superdry to be helpful for finding the right jacket for my style and body type.

This year, however, there does seem to be a better range of jackets and coats available for women with curves, and I have found a few that I really like (a couple are completely out of my budget as usual, but hey a girl can dream).

I love all of the coats pictured here but I think my favourite would have to be the Dolly Skater Coat from ASOS. How about you, which ones do you like?

I really like the two Joules jackets – I really rate their jackets and they are properly waterproof. You could also check out Seasalt ones? x

You are persuading me towards the yellow Joules jacket Lizzie! I love Seasalt clothes – there’s a shop in the seaside village that we lived in that stocks Seasalt…. I may have to pop there at the weekend (but tell R and the kids that it’s because we are going for ice cream obviously!) xxx
