I was totally useless and missed out on last month’s Liked & Loved. To be fair though if I had joined in it would have been the most boring blog post ever. That’s because in September I did a good job of hibernating and being pretty anti-social in general. It was a very quiet month indeed, and I had a bit of post summer holiday comedown that took me most of the month to get over.
But then October arrived and I seemed to brighten up overnight. I’ve had more of a spring in my step this month, been more productive, and just generally been feeling more perky.
Here’s my liked & loved for October:
October started with our 6th wedding anniversary. We didn’t do much to celebrate it this year but had a nice meal at home with some good wine instead.
We might have also had one or two Blackberry Gin Sour cocktails too. Hic.
A few days later Rob and I attended a wedding where I did my usual and cried as the bride walked down the aisle. Soppy muppet that I am. All I can say is thank God for waterproof eyeliner.
I received a couple of happy mail parcels this month too. Firstly, a gorgeous digital radio from VQ Radios, along with a selection of merchandise promoting the Bohemian Rhapsody movie (which I’m hoping to see very soon).
My second happy mail came in the form of three bottles of pre-mixed cocktails from TGI Friday’s. I was sent a Passion Fruit Martini, a Pink Punk Mojito, and a Long Island Iced Tea. They were all lovely and exceptionally moreish, but my favourite was definitely the Pink Punk Mojito – it was like drinking alcoholic Hubba Bubba bubblegum!
And then the half-term holiday crept up on us. We had a pretty lazy week with just a couple of days out – walks in the wood, and a trip to the Muckleburgh Collection (the highlight of that day was when we went on a very bumpy army truck ride around the site and M announced pretty loudly “A little bit of sick came up, but it’s okay mum, it went back down again!”
Half term ended with a Halloween tea party. A bunch of kids, jacked up on sugar, running around the house like loons. It was a lot of fun but bloody exhausting too and there was a very large glass of wine waiting for me in the evening.
And that was my October. It was really rather lovely all in all, and if November if half as lovely as October was then I’ll be pretty happy.
