So, here we are. The last day of November and time for this month’s Liked & Loved. From tomorrow the countdown to Christmas properly starts – are you ready for it? I’m not, well, not really. I’ve bought a few gifts, and we have a tree ready to be decorated (more of that later), but that’s about it.
I guess I will go into full-blown planning mode from tomorrow and spend the next 24 days running around like a headless chicken.
But, before I do that here’s a recap on everything that happened this month.
Liked & Loved: November
November started with a family day out to try out the VIP lanes at Hollywood Bowl in Norwich. We had such a fun afternoon, the VIP lanes really made the whole experience feel a bit more special, and the kids absolutely had the best time. You can read more about our day at Hollywood Bowl here.
A couple of days later I headed out in the evening to attend the re-launch of Bills Restaurant in Norwich. The restaurant had just had a makeover of both the interior and of the menu – and both were amazing.
I had the loveliest evening and met up with Lyndsey from Me, Him, The Dog, and a Baby who only lives a couple of miles away. We have been saying for ages that we should meet up but we just hadn’t managed to arrange a suitable date.
Back to Bill’s – we were treated to not only a selection of items from the new menu, but also some of the most delicious cocktails too. I left feeling incredibly full, but also very happy.
Before now Bill’s had always been a breakfast or brunch spot for me whenever I went shopping, but after my evening there earlier this month I will definitely be going there for dinner and cocktails as soon as possible.
Earlier this month I was approached by Living DNA to see if I would like to discover more about my ancestry. I am a walking, talking definition of a mongrel (definitely a Heinz 57), and I have always wanted to learn more about where I come from and what makes me who I am.
So, last week a swab kit arrived in the post and after registering it online and running a cotton bud around my gum for 45 seconds I sent it back to the lab.
And now I wait. Hopefully, the results will come back in January or Early February – and when they do I will be writing a full blog post about my experience.
The Leesa Pillow
AKA the sleep enhancer. I’ve mentioned many times that I have no problem getting to sleep at night. I am one of those highly annoying people who fall into a deep sleep within a couple of minutes of their head hitting the pillow.
But, I always wake in the middle of the night, normally around 2am, and I find it very difficult to get back to sleep again.
For the longest time, I thought it was just my anxiety that made me wake at this time, and maybe it is in part, but for the past couple of weeks I have been trying out a new pillow from Leesa and it has made the world of difference.
This pillow is made up of a memory foam middle and a temperature regulating section to ensure the pillow remains at a constant temperature all night.
Since using the pillow I have only woken during the night maybe 2 or 3 times, and I have always been able to go back to sleep within a few minutes.
Best. Pillow. Ever.
Elf The Movie – 15th Anniversary
Son of a Nutcracker! You sit on a throne of Lies! Cotton Headed Ninny-muggins!
Yes, it’s Elf the Movie – and this year is its 15th anniversary. To celebrate the lovely elves at New Look sent over some Elf goodies, including some super comfy Buddy the Elf Pyjamas.
I’m pretty certain I will be living in these Pyjamas for the foreseeable future.
Oh, Christmas Tree!
And finally, for this month, we had a very special delivery. A real Christmas tree. I can’t remember the last time I had a real tree, the kids have never experienced having one, and Rob’s family never had a real tree either.
The tree, a 6ft Nordman Fir, arrived yesterday, courtesy of The Christmas Forrest. I’ve named it Norris (I give most things in our house names).
We are holding off on decorating Norris until Saturday when we are going to get fully into the Christmas spirit.
Come back next week to find out how we get on.
Once again I’m linking up with Stevie from A Cornish Mum as part of her liked & loved linky.
Disclosure: I attended events and received items listed above for inclusion in this, and earlier, blog posts, however as always, all words, photos and opinions are my own.
