Do you remember a few weeks ago I was talking about just how difficult my husband is to buy Christmas gifts for? Well, I think I have made a breakthrough in that department! So, with any luck, this Christmas he will be receiving more than a pair of socks and bottle of brandy.
But while I was so determined to find him something that he actually wants I realised that over the last few years I have fallen into the ‘same old same old’ trap with quite a lot of my Christmas gift purchases.
I had a scan back through last years bullet journal and noted that we gave my mum chocolates and bath smellies… and as far as I can recall the year before that she received the same. Well, different brand, but still chocolates and smellies. And they came from the supermarket. I’m a terrible daughter, aren’t I?
And it’s pretty much been the same for anyone else we’ve bought Christmas gifts for.
But not this year. This year I am going to try to make the majority of our Christmas gifts a bit more… personal. And because I despise actually heading into the city to do my shopping, if I can do it from the comfort of my sofa then all the better as far as I’m concerned.
My first port of call, and my goto choice when it comes to finding gifts with a bit of personality is Not on the High Street. Some of my most favourite Christmas gifts for the children in the past have come from there.
I’ve already seen a personalised version of The Snowman & The Snow Dog book on the site that I just know my daughter would adore adding to her collection of Snow Dog items.
And this Botanical Cocktail Garden Kit would be perfect for a Gin loving friend of mine.
The good thing is that by using Not on The High Street Voucher Codes Christmas will be much more affordable this year too.
Another site I like to ‘shop’ at every now and then for gifts is Red Letter Days. I have to admit that in the past I have only shopped here for extra special occasions, like a ‘big’ birthday or similar… but never for Christmas. I don’t know why it never entered my head to consider them as an ideal website for Christmas gifts!
But having browsed the site the few times this week I’ve already decided on, and bought, 2 Christmas gifts for family members using voucher codes for Red Letter Days. I would love to tell you what they are but then that would be spoiling the surprise for some people!
I’m so pleased I’ve been able to make a good start on my Christmas shopping this week. The fact that I have done all of it from the comfort of my own home while watching TV, just makes me so happy too!
How have you been getting on with your Christmas shopping? Have you ticked off all the names on your list? Or have you not even started yet?
