It’s fair to say this past couple of weeks have flown by in a haze of wrapping paper, mince pies, Brie, and red wine. And what a lovely haze it was too – by oh boy, by New Year’s Day I was like “Stick a fork in me… I’m done!” So this first week of the new year has been about trying to get some balance back into my daily routine. Here are my first Little Loves of 2018…
I’ve yet to pick up a book this year, but I have set up a Good Reads account and will be taking part in the 2018 reading challenge. I have set myself a target of 12 books, however, I am hoping I will smash that.
We watched Dunkirk at the weekend, and it’s fair to say we were blown away by its brilliance. I was completely engrossed from start to finish and found myself becoming increasingly tenser as the film went on.
I’ve been listening to my Spotify ‘best of 2017’ playlist quite a bit this week – although I am keen to find some new music to listen to this year. I felt that last year I didn’t really ‘discover’ any new music that really caught my attention (aside from Chameleon Days by Neil Finn), more that I was still listening to music from 2016 and earlier.
I bought extra veggies at the weekend as I knew that I would want to make a soup of some variety this week – and this Spicy Butternut Squash & Parsnip Soup was the one I went for. It was just what we needed on a chilly day, and it felt like the healthiest thing I had eaten in days!
Oh, there has been a whole lot of wearing clothes that have elasticated waists as the Christmas holidays went on. It’s definitely time to sort my expanding waistline out!
I’m looking forward to a daytime date with my husband on Saturday to go see The Last Jedi at the cinema. I don’t know how but we have managed to avoid ALL spoilers so far – it’s quite amazing!
As usual, I’m linking up with Morgana at Coffee Work Sleep Repeat for Little Loves:
