What has happened with the weather this week? I’m sat here writing this Little Loves post and seriously considering turning the heating on. I’ve got my chunky jumper on and I’m starting to think I might have slept through July, August and September because this is surely October weather? Brrrr.
But anyhew, here are my recent Little Loves…
I have started reading ‘Lean In’ by Sheryl Sandberg. When I say ‘started’ I mean I have only made it to page 16 so far. But, if ever there’s been a book that empowers you from the very start then it’s surely this one.
We are still watching Twin Peaks, and this current series is just getting stranger and stranger – in a good way though. This week’s episode was particularly WTF? It was like an even more intense Salvador Dalí / Luis Buñuel collaboration and it’s made me love David Lynch more than ever. However, that being said, this episode was so very intense that I am hoping the next one is just a little lighter.
See aforementioned weather related jumper wearing scenario. Hopefully, some more seasonally appropriate clothing will be worn next week.
Rob and I don’t get the opportunity to go out for a date night all that often, so on a Saturday night we take it in turns to cook for each other – but something a bit beyond the usual dinners we would have during the week. Last Saturday was my turn and I made poussin with harissa & preserved lemons from Sabrina Gayhour’s Persiana book. It was delicious but I didn’t think to take a photo until it was too late.
It was Rob’s birthday a couple of weeks ago and one of his presents from me was the ‘Target ’15’ Live DVD by Vennart. Watching it made me want to listen to The Demon Joke album again, and it’s fair to say it’s been on heavy rotation since. It’s such a good album.
We had plans for an evening visit to the beach to eat fish and chips this weekend, but eldest has come with a rotten bug so we are spending it curled up on the sofa watching movies instead. Which, to be honest, is my idea of a perfect weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend too.
