Demon in Profile, Agent Dale Cooper and Eurovison – Little Loves

#LitleLoves

I am utterly useless at keeping up with linkies, aren’t I? Last year I joined in with Little Loves, the linky hosted by Morgana from Coffee Work Sleep Repeat, several times and I kept saying to myself that in 2017 I would join in every week. It’s now May and I think I have joined in twice so far this year. Bad, bad blogger. That’s me!

But, you know, I’m an optimistic kind of gal and I’m going to give Little Loves another go – because it is one of my favourite linkies to read through each week. It’s so nice to see what all the participants have been up to over the previous seven days, and it’s a great way to find out about new music/fashion/films etc. So here we go….

Read

I have been reading a book about branding – it’s getting to that time of year where I start itching to change the style and design of the blog. Every time I do, though, I go about it in such a haphazard and carefree way that I end up wishing I hadn’t messed around with it in the first place. This time round I would like to do it properly and this book is giving me a better understanding of what does, and doesn’t, work.

Watched

I finally caught up with the final episode of Big Little Lies, and loved it! I haven’t read the book but now that the series is over I have added it to my ‘must read’ list.

I’m trying to hold back from getting stuck into any new series until Twin Peaks starts in a couple of weeks (there are no words that could adequately describe just how excited I am about the return of Special Agent Dale Cooper). But to tide us over until May 22nd we have been watching a few episodes of Inside Number 9, which is both hilarious and disturbing in equal measure.

Made

I jumped back on the Slimming World train this week so I have been making healthy (ish) recipes for our meals.

Question: Why is it that when I’m not on a diet I can go weeks without eating chocolate, yet as soon as I know that I am meant to be restricting all the nice things in life all I want to do is face plant a bar of Fruit & Nut?

Needless to say, I think I could be doing far better than I am – my willpower failed me quite badly by day 2.

Wore

Absolutely nothing of note. I am in a real clothing rut at the moment. I feel like everything I wear just doesn’t suit me at all and I end up covering up in big jumpers that hide all my lumpy bits. But I’m not going to be able to hide under a jumper much longer, am I, so I need to find some clothing inspiration from somewhere.

Heard

In Spades – the new album by The Afghan Whigs. I have loved this band since I was a teenager – they were one of the bands that got me through my ‘oh woe is me’ years of teenage angst. It makes me so happy that they are still releasing music 20 (ish) years later. The first single from the album, Demon in Profile, is particularly epic.

And Lastly…

This weekend is one of my favourite weekend’s of the year… it’s Eurovision weekend! I adore it! I have absolutely no idea how we will do but fingers crossed it won’t be another year of ‘nil points.’

I know just what you mean about jumping in and tweaking and changing things then wishing you never started, I’m always doing that! Having a proper plan of action is definitely the best way to go.
Thanks for The Afghan Whigs mention, I’d completely forgotten about them. Will be listening on Spotify now!
    Have a lovely weekend xx

Twin Peaks! That’s certainly a blast from the past and I didn’t even realise they were bringing it back. I know exactly how you feel about willpower weight loss wise, I’m on a diet too and it’s definitely taken a while for things to click that’s for sure! Have a great weekend – enjoy Eurovision!
